Serving Up Dreams: Your LA Tennis Home Awaits

Now, having a private tennis court at home is the ultimate in luxury, convenience, and fun.
February 19, 2025
Tennis has always been my rhythm. Mornings spent on the court, afternoons by the pool—that was the perfect balance for me growing up. Last year, I even bought the 2024 Wilson Hammer, a modern version of the one I used back in my "glory days." It doesn’t pack quite the same punch as it did then, but it still brings back so many great memories.

Now, having a private tennis court at home is the ultimate in luxury, convenience, and fun. Of course, Beverly Hills offers great public courts, like those at La Cienega Tennis Center, where residents can book for just $10 an hour and non-residents can get in for $14. If you’re looking for a ball machine, it's an extra $10 an hour, and you can book in advance (beverlyhills.org).

For me, it's a real treat to play at Sherwood Country Club in Westlake Village, where I meet up with one of my oldest friends. You might recognize the place—it’s where the infamous Bridesmaids tennis challenge scene was filmed. Pretty iconic, right?

But let's be real, having a court in your backyard takes it to the next level. As much as I love the public options, nothing beats stepping out your back door and getting your game on. Whether it's for a quiet rally, a private lesson, or hosting a match with friends, a home court is the epitome of luxury and fun.

Also, let’s not forget about pickleball, which has been taking over recently. The courts are smaller, making them a perfect fit for backyards. They’re popping up everywhere, and with the demand for courts increasing by 650% since 2017, there’s never been a better time to get in on the action. Whether it’s tennis or pickleball, I’m here to help you find the perfect space to enjoy the game—whatever your style.

String your racquet, tie your laces, and try not to get distracted by the tennis instructor—let's be honest, the cliche hits a little too close to home for a Beverly Hills Tennis Estate. I’ll see you on the court. And hey, I get the side with no sun!
